Madrid gains big advantage with late goal

A late Asensio goal gives lucky Madrid a big advantage for the return. But it was Ajax who started furiously. Right from the whistle Ajax put pressure on Madrid with a lot of aggression. It was however the Spanish team which had the first real good chances. But Bale could only produce weak finishes.

It was sub Asensio, the man with the Dutch roots, who scored the important second goal. A strong reflex by Courtois secured the Madrid win and gave the Spanish side a big advantage for the return for which Ramos is suspended.
